Carlos Obregón joined the firm in 1995 and has been a partner since 2006. His M&A practice is focused on advising private equity and specialised funds in acquisitions of businesses and assets within the pharmaceutical, media, financial, restaurant and education sectors, among others. He has also advised purchasers, sellers and financial advisers in sale processes involving public companies, including complex tender offers and corporate restructurings within the financial and industrial sector.
In capital markets, Carlos regularly advises underwriters and issuers in respect of domestic and international debt, equity and quasi-equity offerings, including corporate bond offerings, sovereign offerings, capital development certificates (CKDs), real estate investment certificates (FIBRAs) and structured asset-backed transactions, both public and private.
He has represented domestic and international lenders in structuring and restructuring credit facilities for Mexican public and private sector entities, particularly focused on asset-backed financings.
He worked as a foreign associate at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York (2000–2001).
