Bernardo has over 13 years of professional experience, and has focused his practice on both private and public offerings of securities, advising issuers, investors, underwriters and credit agencies, as well as in domestic and cross-border complex transactions, mostly with respect to financings, capital and debt markets and M&A.
His experience also includes representing and advising financial entities, such as private and public banking institutions, and other companies on financial regulatory matters in Mexico.
Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the legal departments of two relevant financial groups headquartered in Mexico. Bernardo also worked as an international lawyer at the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP.
He obtained his law master's degree (LLM) at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a certificate in business and law from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and his law degree (JD equivalent) from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, Mexico.
