Biography
Andrés Ordóñez-Rizo is a partner in the mergers and acquisitions practice group. He is admitted to the practice of law in the State of New York and Colombia. His M&A practice is focused on cross-border acquisitions representing primarily strategic investors and private equity funds in acquiring assets based in Latin America and Colombian companies in acquiring companies abroad. Also has relevant experience representing clients in connection with cross-border and syndicated financing transactions and project finance.
Practised as senior associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in New York, at a leading local firm in Bogota, at Arnold & Porter LLP’s Washington, DC office and as in-house counsel of a prominent Colombian investment bank.
Holds a law degree from Universidad Javeriana (Bogota, Colombia), an LLM (with honours) from Georgetown University (Washington, DC) and a postgraduate degree in business law from Universidad de los Andes (Bogota, Colombia).
