Biography
Managing partner of Arias Nicaragua, Ana Teresa specialises in corporate, tax, telecommunications, energy, project financing and mergers and acquisitions.
She has advised international finance institutions reviewing security structures and drafting agreements. She also has advised foreign investors in their corporate organisation to be used in Nicaragua as well as regulatory issues.
Ana Teresa has participated in complex transactions, including due diligence and structuring the transaction to acquire companies in different areas such as retail, distribution, telecommunication, financial institutions, among others. She also acts as legal counsel to different local companies dealing with the day-to-day operations, such as taxes, labour and contracts.
She has a law degree from Universidad Centroamericana de Nicaragua (1996); authorised as a practising attorney and public notary in Nicaragua. She also holds a master's degree in economic law from the University of Chile (2000) and a law master's (LLM) from Cornell University (2004).
