Biography
Alejandro is a lawyer who graduated with honours from Universidad de Los Andes. He joined Baker McKenzie in 1995 and became a partner in 2008. In 2020, he was named managing partner of the Bogotá Office, and in this capacity, he also became a member of Baker McKenzie’s Global Policy Committee.
He has focused on the energy, infrastructure and mining sectors for the past 25 years.
He is a highly regarded expert in project finance transactions, public procurement, joint ventures and distribution structures, and regularly advises American, European and Asian companies in the Colombian market. He also leads the firm’s energy law practice in Bogota and serves as the Latin American Regional Coordinator for the international commercial and trade practice group.
