Biography

Mr Delgado has been co-managing partner since 2017. Alberto has an LLM from the Centre for Energy and Mineral Law and Policy (Rio Tinto-Chevening Scholar), University of Dundee, Scotland; and an LLB from the University of Lima. He worked with Mayer Brown’s Finance Group in London, where he was part of the project finance team assisting banks and sponsors developing mining projects in several jurisdictions.

He co-heads the firm’s projects group, focusing on natural resources, mining, oil and gas and environmental law. Trained originally as a corporate transactions lawyer he is active in M&A and financing deals, particularly in those sectors, while also being responsible for the firm’s land management services practice. He regularly acts for Minera Las Bambas, Glencore, Mitsubishi and other mining companies; led the US$2.6 billion acquisition by CNPCI of the Petrobras subsidiary holding several oil and gas blocks in Peru; and assisted Peru LNG in the development of its US$3.8 billion Camisea II project.
