Analysis: Martinot Abogados was founded in 2015 by Fernando Martinot, who was formerly a senior partner at fellow Latin Lawyer 250 firm Muñiz, Olaya, Meléndez, Castro, Ono & Herrera. It has since expanded its capabilities, notably absorbing a tax boutique headed by Rafael Salazar. Further hires, including a director from EY, went on to reinforce the labour group. Despite this expansion, the firm’s core practice groups are still corporate and M&A and insolvency. Of late Martinot has also been active in mining transactions, advising Minera Vicuña and Stellar Mining on separate deals. The firm also advises on antitrust, aviation, banking and finance and intellectual property matters. Clients are certainly impressed by the quality of the firm’s service, praising these lawyers for their efficiency, knowledge, experience and attentiveness.
