The firm regularly participates in loans and other financial transactions (such as both domestic and cross-border bond issuances) in the country. The firm as legal counsel to BCIE on a US$249.6 million financing for the construction of the most important hydroelectric station in the country, the Montegrande Dam. The firm also served as counsel to the Bank of Nova Scotia in a US$463 million and €18 million financing extended to Phoenix Tower, a Blackstone portfolio company. The firm represented three development banks in a US$60 million financing for the construction of a 57MW solar power plant.
Litigation: The firm's litigation practice is widely considered to be the most prominent and successful litigation department of all of the large law firms in the country, boasting over 700 active cases and a roster of blue-chip clients. Its litigation department has extensive experience in litigation before the courts and administrative tribunals of the Dominican Republic, as well as in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution methods.
