Analysis: The Chilean office of Dentons draws praise for its expertise in banking and infrastructure financing. It previously bolstered its mining law capabilities when it bolted on natural resources boutique Nieto, Morán & Cía. Its intellectual property team also welcomed reinforcements in 2019 when two partners arrived from IP specialist firm ClarkeModet. The firm recently assisted Banque Nacional du Canada in providing a loan for an undisclosed amount to Canadian waste management company EBI Operations in order for the company to acquire a majority stake in Chilean counterpart Cosemar Group. In the past, Crawford & Company, one of the world’s largest claims management insurers, hired the team to acquire its Chilean partner company Crawford Cavallo, including several subsidiaries.
