Cuatrecasas is a leading international firm focused on Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries with a global position through its 27 offices in 13 countries and four continents.
Latin America is a key region for the firm, where we have been operating for over two decades. Since 2015, we have dramatically expanded our local capabilities and we currently have four local offices: Bogotá, Lima, Mexico City and Santiago.
Our teams advise on all areas of business law, applying a sectoral approach and covering all types of industries. They work seamlessly and use the synergies between offices to provide our clients with comprehensive domestic and cross-border advice.
Our clients include many leading Latin American companies as well as a mix of international players, from Spain, Portugal and around the globe, including the United States, Canada, Asia and the Middle East.
In Mexico, we have had a full-service office since 2016. Our team is formed by lawyers whose main areas of expertise are mergers and acquisitions, finance, energy and infrastructure and litigation and arbitration. In January 2023, Cuatrecasas integrated Rico, Robles y Libenson (RRL), adding a team of lawyers highly specialised in transactional and regulatory matters, which strengthens our capacity in the country.
We have been present in Colombia since 2016. Our office offers expert advice with a strong focus on transactional work, infrastructure and energy, among others.
In 2019, we opened our Lima office, where we provide a customised service with a team of highly qualified lawyers, covering the main areas of business law.
In 2020, we opened our office in Santiago de Chile, completing our presence in the Pacific Alliance countries.
We offer expert advice on the main areas of law, including litigation and arbitration, mergers and acquisitions, financing, tax law, competition law and energy.
Our New York office is a bridge to Latin America, maintaining a close relationship with our local teams and our offices in Spain and Portugal, which are particularly active in the region. The strong interaction of our platform guarantees our global coverage in the Americas, providing a key gateway for us to advise domestic and international investors across the continent.
