Latin America is a key region for the firm, where we have been operating for over two decades. In the past five years, we have dramatically expanded our local capabilities and currently have a local team of around 125 professionals in four offices: Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
Our teams across the region advise on all areas of business law, applying a sectoral approach and covering all types of industries. They work seamlessly and use the synergies between offices to provide our clients with comprehensive domestic and cross-border advice.
Our clients include many leading Latin American companies as well as a mix of international players investing in the region, from Spain, Portugal and around the globe, including the United States, Canada, Asia and the Middle East.
In Mexico, we have a full-service office since 2016. Our team includes six partners and around 40 professionals, whose main areas of expertise are energy and infrastructure, M&A, finance, litigation and international arbitration.
We have been present in Colombia since 2016, and we recently opened our own office, which is composed of 30 professionals, including four partners, with a focus on transactional work, infrastructure and energy.
We opened our Lima office in 2019, and it currently has a team of around 30 professionals, including five partners, focusing on corporate M&A, finance and projects (with a focus on energy and infrastructure), tax, and litigation and arbitration. The office also has strong labour and public-regulatory practice areas.
In 2020, we opened our office in Santiago de Chile, completing our presence in the Pacific Alliance countries. Our Chilean team is made up of 30 professionals, including seven partners, and it offers expert advice litigation and arbitration, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, capital markets and finance.
Our New York office is a bridge to Latin America, maintaining a close relationship with our local teams and our offices in Spain and Portugal, which are particularly active in the region. The strong interaction of our platform guarantees our global coverage in the Americas, providing a key gateway for us to advise domestic and international investors across the continent.
