Work areas

This firm is highly recommended for services in the following work areas.

Arias has established itself in the local legal market for a little over 10 years. As an integral part of one of the most established regional firms in Central America, the firm makes the most of its ability to land cross-border work in the region.

Such regional reach differentiates the firm from most counterparts listed in this section whose roots are strictly Panamanian. As well as winning work through referrals from Arias’ other offices, lawyers in Panama have racked up a good deal of experience working on multi-jurisdictional deals alongside their colleagues in other countries. For example, lawyers in the Panama office worked with colleagues in San José, San Salvador, Guatemala City and Tegucigalpa to help Dutch chemical manufacturer IMCD acquire Panama-headquartered industrial material producer Quelaris – the deal spanned nine countries in Latin America.

Under the leadership of managing partner Siaska Lorenzo, the firm has been updating its management structure and providing more clearly defined career tracks for associates. Arias has also invested in new software to improve its management of IP work and litigation.

Already a market leader when it comes to gender diversity in its partnership, the firm hopes to incorporate employees with disabilities into its ranks, in line with national efforts to diversify the employment landscape in Panama. Clients have praised the firm’s meticulous legal work and extensive experience.

Arias has seven offices in the capitals of Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala, and an additional office in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
