Rodolpho de Oliveira Franco Protasio is one of the founding partners of Mundie e Advogados, where he heads the corporate and M&A practice group of the firm. His primary areas of practice are mergers and acquisitions, private equity, finance and infrastructure. Before founding Mundie e Advogados, Mr Protasio spent 10 years at Baker & McKenzie, in its Rio de Janeiro and Chicago offices. He has worked on an extensive list of corporate, finance and private equity transactions, covering many different industries and sectors, including agribusiness, logistics, energy, telecommunications, IT, mining, ports, means of payment, financial services, consumer products, education, real estate and others.
Mr Protasio graduated from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) (LLB, 1990) and completed postgraduate studies in tax law at Faculdade Cândido Mendes, Rio de Janeiro (1991). He also attended the orientation in American law programme at the University of California, Davis (1992) and holds a master’s degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law (LLM, cum laude, 1994). He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Distrito Federal sections), the Brazilian Institute of Studies of Energy Law (IBDE) and the International Bar Association (IBA). He has been constantly recognised by well-known legal market research publications. He has also served as member of the board or council of different organisations and companies.
