Biography

Mr Garza is a partner at Nader, Hayaux & Goebel and his main areas of practice include banking, structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, telecom and project finance. Mr Garza has worked in some of the largest structured finance and capital markets transactions, representing both sponsors and financial intermediaries. His most recent cases include securitisation deals related to infrastructure and financing projects, as well as local and cross-border issuances of securities, commercial financings and private equity funds. He also regularly handles regulatory and M&A transactions, including in the real estate, infrastructure, telecom and financial intermediaries industries, and advises on foreign investment acquisitions and joint ventures.

Mr Garza is a graduate of the Panamerican University (attorney at law 1997, summa cum laude). He has a master of law degree from the University of Texas in Austin, where he obtained a fellowship award. He worked as foreign associate at Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago. He is a professor of international financial law and financial intermediaries at the Panamerican University in Mexico City and has been a lecturer of Mexican business and commercial law at the University of Texas in Austin.

Mr Garza is the author of various articles and chapters of specialised books and journals. His chapters include Chambers Global Practice Guide: Corporate M&A 2021 and Chambers Practice Guide: Banking & Finance 2021; Getting The Deal Through: Telecoms and Media, Mexico chapter 2017 to 2021, Getting The Deal Through: M&A, Mexico chapter, 2017 to 2021 and The International Capital Markets Review, Mexico chapter since 2018 to date, published by Law Business Research; and Latin Lawyer Bank Financing, Mexico questionnaire, 2019.
