Biography
Mr Meléndez is the head of the dispute resolution and arbitration practices at Estudio Muñiz. Most global legal guides rank him among Peru’s top lawyers. He has experience litigating in civil courts for the nation’s largest banks, oil & gas, and telecommunications companies (Telefónica del Perú, Scotiabank, Interbank, Banco Pichincha, Pluspetrol, Savia, Promigas). He also represents the top hospitality company in Peru (Intursa). He is a law professor at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) and at Universidad de San Martín de Porres. He is a member of the of Instituto Peruano de Arbitraje (IPA) and the Lima Bar Association. He participates regularly in conferences and seminars in his field of expertise. He has also published several articles. Recently, he wrote a piece on the implementation of the contentious-administrative proceedings law for Issues about Administrative Law, a book published by Derecho & Sociedad, a well-known students association from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP).
