Fabíola, partner of Meira Breseghello Advogados Associados, has more than 15 years of experience in consumer relations and product and service liability and civil litigation (prevention and conflict resolution), recall as well as data protection, especially in the automotive, health, retail, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, financial services and insurance, including e-commerce. She has extensive experience in the analysis of advertising campaigns and performance with the Brazilian advertising self-regulation body (CONAR). She has a doctorate in common and collective rights from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC/SP), with the subject of her thesis being “Inherent Risk and Appropriate Information excluding in the Consumer Defense Code” (2016); a master’s in common and collective rights from the PUC/SP, with the subject of her thesis “Digital Marketing and the Consumer Protection” (2009); and a postgraduate degree in consumer relations law from the PUC/SP (2003). She is a professor of consumer relations law in the postgraduate programme at PUC/SP (COGEAE) and other education institutions. She is president of ABRAREC (Brazilian Association of the Company/Customer Relationship), a member of the BRASILCON (Institute of Policy and Consumer Law) and adviser to IBRAC (Brazilian Institute of Studies of Competition, Consumption and International Trade). She is the coordinator and author of books about the Consumer Protection Code and author of several legal articles. During her constant study and improvement for her career, she has achieved results for large companies in defence of their interests regarding the Consumer Relations Law, showing extensive knowledge in judicial and administrative lawsuits and their impact on the company’s business. She also focuses on consulting services and legal opinions to assist the decision makers about suppliers and manufacturers regarding products and services placed on the market. In addition, she assists large companies and major business executives in understanding the Consumer Relations Law to adjust the application of Brazilian’s legislation to reduce contingencies and liabilities. Fabíola is recognised as one of the 500 most admired lawyers in Brazil by Análise Advocacia 500, ranking first in 2020, and as the most admired woman lawyer in consumer relations in 2021.
