Camila Araújo is a senior partner at Araújo e Policastro and head of the corporate and M&A, energy, infrastructure and regulatory areas of the firm.

Camila has extensive corporate experience, having worked on many high-value joint ventures, public offerings and M&A transactions. She has also developed substantial experience in representing foreign entities doing business in Brazil. Camila has also advised on most aspects of energy law and has significant industry experience. She has worked in an extensive list of projects in the infrastructure sector, assisting international and national consortiums in public bids for concessions or privatisation in the telecommunication, airports and ports, roads and energy areas as well as in social infrastructure, mainly in the education area. Her practice includes start-ups, greenfield and public-private partnership (PPP) projects. Among a broad range of clients there are multinationals and Brazilian companies in the energy, mining, aviation, pharmaceutical, medical devices and life science, technologies, retail services, education, automotive and construction sectors.

She holds a law degree (LLB) from São Paulo University Law School and is a Master of Comparative Jurisprudence (MCJ) of New York University School of Law.

Camila is co-founder and member of the board of directors of the Brazilian Institute of Energy Law (IBDE), though president and vice president between 2003 and 2015. The Institute’s members are the most reputable professionals specialised in energy law. She is also a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, the International Bar Association (IBA) and the São Paulo Lawyers Institute (IASP).
