Barbara Rosenberg is a partner at Barbosa, Müssnich e Aragão (BM&A), a full-service Brazilian firm recognised as one of the most prestigious law firms in Brazil and listed by Chambers Global, Latin Lawyer and other well-known publications as a top firm in various areas, including competition/antitrust and corporate/M&A.

Ms Rosenberg currently heads the competition and antitrust practice at BMA. Ms Rosenberg and BMA's practice have been continuously recognised by Chambers Latin America (being ranked in the First Band since 2012), GCR 100 (being ranked as Elite Firm since 2013), PLC Which Lawyer, Legal 500 Best Lawyers among other well-known publications. Rosenberg has won the "2015 Lawyer of the Year GCR Award" granted by Global Competition Review to the most prominent lawyer on the field on that year, having also won the "2011 Lawyer of the Year - Under 40 Award" four years before. Before joining the firm, Barbara Rosenberg was the head of the antitrust department at the Ministry of Justice, where she also held the role of deputy secretary at the former Secretariat of Economic Law (SDE), having devoted large efforts in re-engineering Brazil's competition regime between 2003 and 2005. Prior to that, Rosenberg was a partner at another Brazilian prestigious firm, was a foreign associate at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton and also acted at the intellectual property division secretariat of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Ms Rosenberg holds a Doctorate (PhD) Degree from the University of São Paulo and an LLM from the University of California, Berkeley. Rosenberg is the vice president of the Brazilian Institute of Competition, Consumer and International Trade (IBRAC); a member to the international task force of the antitrust section of the American Bar Association (ITF-ABA); a non-governmental advisor to the International Competition Network (ICN); and a member of the competition committee of the Brazilian Bar Association, São Paulo branch (OAB/SP).

In recent years, BM&A and Ms Rosenberg have been involved in a number of high-profile merger filings before the Brazilian Antitrust Authority (CADE), such as Dow/DuPont, JBA between Latam/IAG, Novartis/GlaxoSmithKlineNovartis/Eli Lilly, AB InBev/SABMiller, Itaú Unibanco/Mastercard, Electrolux/GE, ALL/Rumo, Apple/Sadia/Perdigão (which created BRF), Ponto Frio/Casas Bahia, Tam/Lan (creating LATAM), L’Óreal/Nielly, Coty/Hypermarcas, JBS/Bertin, Itau/Unibanco, US Airways/American Airlines, 3G/ Heinz, Solvay/INEOS, Universal/EMI, IRB privatisation and Bayer/Merck. Likewise, BM&A has been involved in virtually all international cartel cases prosecuted by CADE.
