Bruchou and Marval, O'Farrell advise in dairy JV deal

Sancor CUL and Arla Foods, the leading dairy cooperatives in Argentina and Denmark respectively, are forming a joint venture to produce whey-based foods in Córdoba, Argentina. Once the plant is operating it will be the largest whey plant in Latin America. The project is being financed by Rabobank of the Netherlands and Germany’s DEG Bank.

IDB and Souza, Cescon tie up road project

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Brazil’s Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) sealed a project financing deal with a toll road operator, Concessionária Ecovias dos Imigrantes SA, in late March.

NY and Argentine firms work together on fertiliser plant

One the biggest deals in Argentinean history is expected to close at the end of March, with two companies, YPF SA, the largest Argentine oil and natural gas producer, and Canada’s Agrium Inc, North America’s largest nitrogen fertilizer producer, collaborating to build what will be, when finished, the largest fertilizer plant in the world.

A newly-established Brazilian firm has just assisted Companhia Petrolífera Marlim, a major local petroleum company, in pricing and issuing R$1 billion in debentures. The debentures duly secured a near-perfect rating from two ratings agencies.
