Antofagasta Minerals gets US$1.3 billion project financing in Chile

Chilean conglomerate Antofagasta Minerals has hired Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and local firm Jara Del Favero & Ried Fabres Abogados to obtain a US$1.3 billion project financing to fund an infrastructure project at Los Pelambres copper mine.

Lundin buys Yamana Brazilian mining unit for US$1 billion

Stikeman & Elliot LLP in Toronto and Veirano Advogados in Rio de Janeiro have helped Canadian base metals company Lundin Mining Corporation buy a Brazilian subsidiary of Yamana Gold for US$1 billion.
