Roberto is partner in Azevedo Sette Advogados’ corporate M&A practice in Belo Horizonte office. He draws upon more than 20 years’ experience advising clients in complex transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, contracts and corporate matters.
LLB from UFMG Law School, and was admitted to practise in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 1998. Roberto is specialised in commercial and corporate law at FGV (2001). Master’s degree in commercial and financial law at King’s College London (LLM, 2008).
Since 2015, Roberto is coordinator of the Corporate Law Committee at CESA/MG, member of Lawyers Society Committee and of the Corporate Law Committee at Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/MG). Before joining Azevedo Sette, he was judicial assistant to judge Roberto Borges in the Court of Appeal of the State of Minas Gerais (Décima Câmara Cível do TJMG), 2003–2005, and worked as in-house counsel to ArcelorMittal, 2006–2007.
Roberto is recommended in Latin Lawyer 250 and The Legal 500 in corporate and M&A. Análise Advocacia 500 recognises him as reference in Minas Gerais state.
