Dr Mayora has over three decades of experience practising law. He holds two doctorate degrees in law, one from Universidad Autónoma and the other from Universidad Francisco Marroquin. He also has an LLM from Georgetown University and a law degree from Universidad Rafael Landívar. He has taught at several universities on various topics including financial and commercial agreements, the civil process and the economic analysis of the law.
His practice concentrates primarily on arbitration, finance law, securities law, constitutional law, corporate law, commercial law, M&A, administrative law and tax law. He has been consistently recognised by ranking agencies for his accomplishments, namely Chambers and Partners, IFLR 1000 and The Legal 500. Recently, he received the prestigious Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who and was recognised as a Thought Leader in banking and finance and corporate/M&A by LACCA. In 2019, The Latin American Lawyer named him as tax attorney of the year at its Energy and Infrastructure Awards.
