Gonzalo De Las Casas is a main partner at the firm and head of the bankruptcy and restructuring practice area. He graduated in law from the Pontificia Catholic University of Peru.
His fields of expertise are bankruptcy, corporate reorganisation, insolvency, white-collar crimes, banking and corporate finance.
He has been professor at the Instituto de Formación Bancaria, University of Lima and Escuela de Administración de Negocios. He has been a member of the commission that drafted the banking and insurance law, the bankruptcy and insolvency law and the section referred to financial fraud in the Peruvian criminal code.
He has also been an adviser to the Alca Perú group member of the Antidumping, Countervailing Duties and Non-Tariff Barriers Surveillance Commission of the National Institute for the Defence of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property, and member of the WTO Panel in the dispute about measures related to the goods and services trade filed by Panama against Argentina.
He is a former founding partner and head of the banking, finance and corporate reorganisation area of Benites, De las Casas, Forno & Ugaz Abogados.
