Born in Quito, Ecuador, 1976. He earned his degree as attorney from Pontificia Catholic University of Ecuador and engaged in further studies at Universidad Andina Simón Bolivar. With over 15 years of professional practice, Andrés has accrued broad experience in both the public and private sectors. In recent years, his practice has focused on legal advice to leading oil and mining companies operating in Ecuador. Andrés held the positions of Secretary of Hydrocarbon, legal manager of Petroamazonas EP (main NOC in the country), head negotiator for the Republic of Ecuadorian state on oil and mining contracts.
For several years he has been member of the board of directors and controller of Fundación por Una Vida, a non-profit organisation created in 1990 to aid low-income children affected by leukaemia and other onco-hematological diseases. Speaks Spanish and English.
