Cristian Mitrani is co-head of the general corporate practice and head of the firm’s compliance and corporate crime and of the privacy and data protection practices. He has a well-recognised experience in international business law, with particular emphasis on M&A, joint ventures, various types of business transactions, multinational corporate governance, international arbitration and competition law. He acted as lead counsel in record-setting privatisations, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances in various countries. He counsels clients on crisis management, including corporate and governmental investigations of alleged law violations, and on the strategic management of critical litigation. In addition, he is a renowned expert in white-collar crime, corporate investigations, direction of material litigation and crisis management.
Mr Mitrani’s recent transactional work includes Techint’s US$2.7 billion acquisition of a minority interest in Usiminas (Brazil); Ternium’s US$1.97 billion sale of Sidor (Venezuela) to the Venezuelan government; Tenaris’s US$2.1 billion acquisition of Hydril (US); Tenaris’s US$3.185 billion acquisition of Maverick Tube (US); Ternium’s US$2.3 billion acquisition of Hylsamex (Mexico); Tenaris’s acquisition of Silcotub and Donasid (Romania); and Tenaris’s US$2 billion multijurisdictional exchange offer and concurrent listing.
Mr Mitrani is also an expert on white-collar crime, corporate investigations, direction of material litigation and crisis management.
