Cristina leads the firm’s antitrust and competition practice. She is member of the firm’s steering committee and has over 20 years of experience in Mexico and abroad, both in the public and private sectors. She is a former Commissioner of the Mexican Antitrust Commission, held other high-ranking positions as a public official in Mexico and worked at Cleary Gottlieb abroad (New York and Hong Kong offices).

Her experience includes handling merger control procedures including the design and implementation of strategy, compliance and training programmes for major companies, lobbying, advice and representation of clients in investigation proceedings (cartel behaviour, abuse of dominance and barriers to entry, including applications to the leniency programme).

She won the Gender Diversity Lawyer of the Year Award for Mexico in the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Latin America Awards 2019.

She holds a master’s degree (LLM) from Harvard Law School and is admitted to practise in New York.
