His main areas of expertise include banking and capital markets regulation, public debt, bankruptcy/insolvency and corporate reorganisation, as well as privatisations, mergers & acquisitions and asset sales. Manuel has ample experience in securities offerings in both international and local markets, including having participated in a large variety of issuances under the United States' Regulation S and Rule 144A, not only for private issuers but also for government agencies. He has participated in a wide range of capital market transactions, including subordinated notes for local banks, CKDs, securitisations and structured securities. He also has solid experience in banking; he has advised on local and cross-border loans granted by financial institutions and regularly provides advice relating to banking regulations. Manuel has vast experience in handling the authorisation process with local regulators for financial institutions on diverse types of situations. He actively participates in the licensing of financial institutions, and advises newcomers to the Mexican securities market on obtaining regulatory authorisations.
