Catalina is a partner in the firm’s banking and finance area. Major legal directories have recognised her as Notable Practitioner, Up-and-Coming, Next Generation Lawyer in bank and finance. She has more than 15 years of experience and has been with the firm since 2009.
Catalina has advised clients on complex financing transactions, including corporate financing, project finance, and debt issuances. She has counseled clients on closing complicated deals, structuring elaborate financing transactions, and negotiating a wide variety of guarantee agreements and has significant experience advising multilateral entities. Recently, she acted as local counsel to the dealer managers and solicitation agents in relation to the exchange of Senior Notes due 2020 co-issued by Avianca in the amount of US$550 million. She has also provided counsel to the ad hoc Committee and Computershare Trust Company of Canada as a collateral agent in the financing through the issuance of guaranteed debtor-in-possession notes by Pacific Exploration and Production Corporation to current noteholders and the Catalyst Capital Group Inc. on behalf of investment funds. This financing, in the amount of US$500 million, was part of a plan for the restructuring of the financial obligations of the Pacific Exploration and Production Corporation.
She has an LLM in corporate law from New York University (USA) and was admitted to practise in the state of New York in 2012.
