Humberto heads the firm’s corporate governance and regulatory compliance practice group. Humberto advises domestic and multinational companies on corporate law, corporate governance and compliance. He has more than 24 years of experience.
Before joining Sánchez Devanny, Humberto worked at General Electric (GE) for over a decade, most recently as General Counsel for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, reporting to GE’s general counsel and Latin America’s CEO, leading a team of 55 counsel in the industrial, financial and entertainment sectors. He also led GE’s legal strategies in the tax, labour and corporate areas, and the design and implementation of the corporate governance and regulatory compliance infrastructure for GE in Mexico. Humberto worked in the public sector as general counsel for the Urban Development and Housing Committee of the Mexican Senate during the LVI Legislature. Humberto is the former managing partner for Sánchez Devanny. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
