Brendan Oviedo’s practice focuses on energy and infrastructure project development, construction, finance, mergers & acquisitions at a domestic and international level.
Brendan is a qualified lawyer from the University of Lima (2001), Spanish attorney-at-law, University of Barcelona (2005) with an LLM in energy law policy, CEPMLP, University of Dundee (2004) and a diploma in competition law and policy, World Trade Institute, University of Bern (2006).
Prior to joining the firm, he worked in prestigious Peruvian law firms and the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (2004).
He is currently chair of the International Bar Association Power Law Committee (2019–2021).
Recognised as a Leading Lawyer by IFLR 1000, The Legal 500, WWL and Chambers and Partners.
He has been a professor of energy, project finance, climate change and regulation at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) and Universidad ESAN.
