Hugo Cuesta has focused his practice on international business transactions. His extensive corporate background comprises foreign investment, M&A, banking and finance and corporate law.

He has developed substantial expertise representing leading foreign entities doing business in Mexico as well as Mexican entities doing business abroad.

Mr Cuesta has acted as lead Mexican counsel in several international projects and business transactions, advising multinationals on their legal, corporate and finance structure in Mexico, as well as in a number of public bidding processes with the Mexican government.

He is vice chair and board member of Meritas Law Firms Worldwide, member of the New York State Bar as part of the international section, former vice chair of the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico and member of the anti-corruption committee of the IBA. He serves as member of the board of various multinationals, various foundations and non-profit organisations.
