Anthony Oldfield is the managing partner of the São Paulo office. He has significant cross-border experience, having worked in Latin America for more than 25 years, focusing on takeovers, joint ventures and venture capital transactions; he also acts for both issuers and underwriters in raising debt and equity. Anthony is ranked Band 1 by Chambers and Partners for corporate/M&A among international counsel based in Brazil and is listed as a Leading Lawyer (Tier 1) by The Legal 500 Latin America.
Anthony’s recent experience includes having advised a large Chinese conglomerate on its first acquisition in Latin America (a stake in a Brazilian fintech), leading nonwoven fabrics manufacturer Fitesa on its acquisition of a majority stake in a Thai operation, as well as Banco Bradesco on its historic US$5.2 billion acquisition of HSBC in Brazil. He also advised Brazilian airline TAM Linhas Aéreas on its merger with Chilean airline LAN.
