Mr Alegria joined the law firm as partner and head of the regulatory law practice group that encompasses tax, labour, telecommunications and energy law, as well as the business law practice group.
Mr Alegría’s expertise and versatility allows him to practise a wide range of specialised practice areas, from complex dispute resolution to high-end project finance matters. He has advised important multinational corporations, and multilateral entities in corporate and finance matters. He has also participated in complex M&A activity in the Central American region, as well as large transactions.
In the area of project finance, he has acted as counsel for many international financial institutions in the negotiation of loans and implementation of financial instruments. He has been recognised as an expert in energy and natural resources matters in Guatemala. He has represented as director important groups related to the energy sector, across the Central American region.
Additionally, he contributes to the litigation practice group by having experience in international arbitrations and has participated as expert witness at an international level.
