Educated at Harvard (LLM, 1992), University of Brussels (Law and Institutions of the European Community, 1992), University of Uruguay (JD). Director of the Council of the Americas, New York; Chairman of the Closely Held and Growing Business Enterprises Committee (International Bar Association); Chairman of the Uruguay Board, Endeavor Foundation; Member of CEAL (Latin American Business Council); Director of the Board of the US-Uruguay Chamber of Commerce; Chair of the Institute of Law, ORT University (1993–present); and Director of Un Techo Para Mi País, a nonprofit association that builds emergency housing and coordinates student volunteer programs. Professor of Economics, International Trade Theory and International Finance, University of Uruguay School of Law (1997–1992). Speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese.
