João Paulo “JP” Servera focuses his practice on asset finance and corporate law, with significant experience in aviation, aircraft financing and cross-border transactions. JP works closely with his clients advising in a variety of matters, including foreign investment and cross border securitisation. After having started his career in one of Brazil’s most respected law firms and dedicated his legal practice to litigation and restructuring matters, JP represented aircraft lessors in the largest Brazilian airline bankruptcy judicial procedure in the early 2000s. Since then, his practice migrated from litigation and restructuring to aviation, a field to which he is currently dedicated. With over a decade of experience in aircraft finance transactions involving commercial aircraft, general air service companies, helicopters and corporate aircraft, JP has been assisting ECAs, banks, financiers, lessors and other lenders/creditors in the securitisation of assets in Brazil. The combination of his earlier career experience and the past decade’s practice brought JP an extensive background and experience in aircraft-related commercial litigation, mostly involving aircraft repossession, insolvency procedures and bankruptcy.
