Eduardo Calderón is a partner of BLP, where he heads the business law, notarial services, real estate and hospitality, and telecommunications, media & technology practices. He has been heavily involved in developments in the coastal areas of Costa Rica. His experience also includes the representation of financial agencies, banks and foreign corporations. He was born in Oxford, and is fluent in English and Spanish. He holds degrees from University of Costa Rica (honours), and Columbia University in New York (Harlen Fiske Stone scholar award). Mr Calderón was granted a scholarship by the Organization of American States during his LLM programme. He has also attended seminars on international transactions organised by Georgetown University and the Central American Business Administration Institute. He was selected as one of Central America’s top 40 corporate lawyers under 40 years old by Latin Lawyer and has been recognised as a leader in his field by Latin Lawyer, IFLR1000, The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. Eduardo was also former President of the Costa Rican Bar Association.
