Luis Castro is a founding partner of BLP and head of the firm’s project finance and real estate and hospitality practice areas. Over the past two decades, he has counselled a list of major national and multinational organisations on a wide range of legal, financial, and other business issues. He has won recognition for representing sponsors and developers of infrastructure resources, as well as advising at multilateral agencies in connection with energy projects, oil pipelines and toll road development. In real estate and hospitality, he has negotiated and prepared agreements related to real property development for commercial, industrial, residential and tourist projects.
Luis is a member and former chairman of the board of directors of the Costa Rican Chapter of YPO/WPO and founding member of the Costa Rican Association of International Law. He has been recognised as one of Costa Rica’s best and brightest lawyers by Latin Lawyer.
While concluding studies for his degree at the Law School of the Universidad de Costa Rica, Luis won a prestigious William J Fulbright scholarship to Georgetown University where he earned an LLM, along with a diploma on Foundations of American Law.
