Roberto Guerrero V is a partner with Guerrero Olivos and focuses his practice in general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, project finance, and capital markets. As a member of the arbitration body of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and the National Center of Arbitration, he has been appointed as arbitrator in several cases.
He graduated from Pontifical Catholic University of Chile School of Law and was admitted to practise in Chile in 1991. He also has a master’s in comparative jurisprudence (MCJ) from New York University; and was a fellow of Eisenhower Fellowship’s Multi National Exchange Program (2007). Roberto was a foreign associate with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York (1994–1995).
He is currently a member of the board of BCI Corredor de Bolsa SA, of the Chilean-Pacific Foundation and of the National Council of Television. Prior to this, he was a member of the Council for Transparency, a public agency that supervises transparency of governmental entities and access to public information. Since 1995 he has been a professor of corporate law and corporate finance at Pontifical Catholic University of Chile School of Law, and until January 2015 he was its dean. He is also member of the International Bar Association and the Chilean Bar Association.
He has a number of publications on corporate, banking and finance and capital markets regulation.
