Mr Mitrani, who leads the firm’s general corporate practice, has a well-recognised experience in international business law, with particular emphasis on M&A, joint ventures, multinational corporate governance, international arbitration and competition law. He acted as lead counsel in record-setting privatisations, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances in numerous countries.

Mr Mitrani’s recent transactional work includes Techint’s US$2.7 billion acquisition of a minority interest in Usiminas (Brazil); Ternium’s US$1.97 billion sale of Sidor (Venezuela) to the Venezuelan government; Tenaris’s US$2.1 billion acquisition of Hydril (US); Tenaris’s US$3.185 billion acquisition of Maverick Tube (US); Ternium’s US$2.3 billion acquisition of Hylsamex (Mexico); Tenaris’s acquisition of Silcotub and Donasid (Romania); and Tenaris’s US$2 billion multijurisdictional exchange offer and concurrent listing.

Mr Mitrani was a partner at Bruchou, Fernández Madero, Lombardi & Mitrani between 2000 and 2007, and senior in-house counsel of the Techint Group between 1984 and 2000.
