Mr Carvajal, managing partner, concentrates his practice on banking and finance, capital markets and corporate areas, with experience in both, local and cross-border transactions. In capital markets, he has extensive experience in financing companies through issuances of bonds and commercial papers. He has also acted as local counsel in international issuances and placement of bonds (under Rule 144A and Reg. S). In addition, he has broad experience advising issuers in complying with the requirements of the Financial Market Commission (the Chilean securities market regulator). He has acted in financing transactions, including syndicated local and international loans, project finance, debt restructuring, among others.
He obtained his law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has an LLM from the University of Chicago. He practised in the capital markets department of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, New York, as a foreign associate. He was admitted to the Chilean Bar in 1995.
