Javier specialises in project finance and public-private partnership, restructuring and insolvency, real estate and asset-based financing. In addition, he has developed a specialist practice in aviation financing, mainly representing financial institutions.
Javier's practice in infrastructure and projects has focused on public-private partnerships, where he has participated in structuring, development and financing, of infrastructure projects, advising government agencies, banks, funds and developers in industries as varied as social infrastructure, energy and natural resources, roads and water projects.
Javier is an important member of the restructuring and insolvency practice of the firm and has over 15 years of experience, mainly representing creditors. Javier is actively involved in asset-based financing. He has an outstanding track record representing lenders in large real estate financing; as well as guarantors, lenders and lessors in commercial and corporate aircraft financing and leasing.
Javier spent a year working at Mayer Brown LLP in New York. He received his LLM (with honours) and a certificate in management from the Northwestern University School of Law and the Kellogg School of Management, having graduated (with honours) as a lawyer from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
