Dr Mayora has more than 30 years’ experience practising Guatemalan Law. He has two doctorate degrees in law – one from Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona and the other from Universidad Francisco Marroquin of Guatemala. He also has an LLM from Georgetown University and was awarded his bachelor’s degree to become an attorney at law and notary public from Universidad Rafael Landívar of Guatemala. He has taught at several Guatemalan and foreign universities on various topics including classes on financial and commercial agreements, the civil process, notary law and economic analysis of the law.
His practice concentrates on arbitration, banking and finance law, securities exchange law, civil law, constitutional law and litigation, corporate law, commercial law, M&A, administrative law and litigation, telecommunications and tax law. He has been consistently recognised by ranking agencies for his accomplishments, namely Chambers and Partners, Best Lawyers, LACCA, Who’s Who Legal, IFLR 1000 and The Legal 500.
