Cristina Massa leads the firm’s antitrust and competition practice group. She has a developed practice in regulated sectors (energy, telecomm), including compliance and government affairs, and contributes with her experience in competition issues relating to access to the newly created oil and gas markets in Mexico.
Ms Massa is former Commissioner of the Mexican Antitrust Commission and throughout her career; she has held other high-ranking positions as public official. In the private sector, she was founding partner of a consulting firm specialised in legal and strategic analysis for the development of economic public policies. She was foreign associate at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, in their New York and Hong Kong offices, and a legal analyst at Protego (now Evercore Partners).
She obtained her law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and a master’s degree (LLM) from Harvard Law School and is admitted to practice in New York.
