Corporate and M&A: Uriel O’Farrell has built a strong reputation for corporate and energy work over his career. He continues leading this team while lending his experience to disputes work. He is ably seconded by Ricardo H Castañeda and Juan Pablo Fratantoni in the corporate sphere and by Agustín Siboldi in energy matters, supported by a dynamic team of lawyers. This area is strongly involved in assessing YPF Luz’s recent acquisitions and joint venture with General Electric. 

Finance and capital markets: Argentina’s largest energy company, YPF and YPF Luz have retained the firm for notes issuances in order to raise capital for investment in the country’s oil and gas reserves and power generation sector. Sebastian Luegmayer led the efforts in this area, also working bond issuances for John Deere Credit, among others. He advises ISDA in relation to netting legislation in Argentina.

Compliance: Led by Miguel AM Teson and Juan Pablo Fratantoni, we advise local and foreign clients, across a wide range of industries, in the design, implementation, audit and/or training about their compliance or integrity programs, code of conducts, ethics rules in order to adapt them pursuant to Argentine laws and the recent Corporate Criminal Liability Act enacted, as well as legal assistance in administrative/judicial proceedings related to these matters.

Constitutional, public and administrative law: Jorge Muratorio, Fernando García Pullés and Agustina Fanelli Evans, constitute a well regarded team working on a wide range of complex matters in public transport, public procurement, administrative disputes, consumer, environmental, etc, advising and representing, among others, YPF, Pampa Energía, Edenor, Andrade Gutierrez, Gas Natural Fenosa, Grupo Concesionarios del Oeste SA, Autopistas del Sol SA. 

Antitrust, telecommunications, energy and heavily regulated markets: Agustín Siboldi leads the antitrust and telecom practices well seconded by Agustina Fanelli Evans, with the strong support of Fernando García Pullés. They team up with Uriel O'Farrell in energy matters. They also share the practice in other heavily regulated markets such as pharmacy retail and car industry. In these fields, they advise FORD, ESSO, YPF, YPF Luz, ENI, AXION, EDENOR, TRANSENER, Gas Natural Fenosa, Telefónica, CLARO, Farmacity, Pampa Energía’s subsidiaries, etc. This area is strongly involved in assessing YPF Luz's recent acquisitions and joint ventures.

Civil and commercial litigation – Complex litigation: Daniel Calatrava leads a well-regarded civil and commercial litigation team, Fernando García Pullés lends his extensive experience in complex litigation and procedural matters while ably seconded by Francisco Astolfi who is in charge of coordinating a team composed of associates and senior lawyers. Among its clients are Ford, Medicus, Monsanto, Gas Natural Fenosa, Casino de Buenos Aires and YPF. The area is supported by an extensive legal network with presence in every province of the country.

Tax law: Miguel AM Tesón, leading the area, is a prestigious tax lawyer, former president of the Argentine Fiscal Association. He works alongside Guillermo Lalanne, Valeria Estathio and Maria Celina Valls, with the support of Eduardo Baistrocchi and Carlos Repetto, as of counsel. The department has a strong expertise in complex tax litigation matters. It completes its practice covering a wide range of local and international tax issues, including international tax planning and transfer pricing.

Custom law: Led by Gustavo Müller (President of the Argentine Institute of Customs Studies (IAEA)), the area has been increasing its activity since the new administration took office and the country is receiving increased foreign direct investments. Assisted by his team, he represents Ford, EDENOR, TRANSENER, in a wide range of matters such as rules of origin and tariff schedule, preferential regimes, customs assessment, foreign exchange regime, customs infringements, dumping, quotas and allotments.

Labour law: José Luis Zapata leads an important area providing employment advice to major companies in the area of electric power, oil and gas, retail, construction, etc. He participated in important labour agreements as counsel for the Chamber of Petroleum Industry. The team successfully manages labour lawsuit portfolios, while José  specialises in collective labour disputes management and collective bargaining agreements negotiation.

Probono: The firm is a cofounder member of the Comisión Pro Bono Clearing House (the pro bono committee created in December 2000 by the City of Buenos Aires Bar Association. The team led by Uriel O´Farrell and Ernesto Genco renders Pro bono advice to individuals, NGO and other social organisations and regularly advices – among others – Fundación Donde Quiero Estar, Grupo Puentes, Asociación Sarmientina, Asociación Argentina de Neurofibromatosis.
