LACCA Approved

The frequent feedback from LACCA members at meetings and elsewhere is that finding trustworthy, consistently good counsel in Latin America is still difficult. Thus, we launched LACCA Approved, a selection of lawyers from private practice who have been personally recommended by our members, the top general counsel from around the region.

Once a year, LACCA members are asked to nominate their preferred external counsel in Latin America for specific areas of law. Only members – who are all leading in-house counsel – are eligible to vote. Any lawyer working full-time for a company, and working with Latin America, is eligible to join LACCA and thus participate in the research.

In the research process, nominations from members are verified, counted and weighted, with the region’s biggest buyers of legal services given more prominence in the process. Private practitioners are then selected for inclusion and listed by practice area and by country on our website.

Approved lawyers with the highest number of nominations are also recognised in LACCA Thought Leaders and feature prominently.

Thought Leaders

LACCA Thought Leaders brings together the insight, expertise and wisdom of some of Latin America’s foremost lawyers. Within LACCA Approved, only those listed lawyers who obtained the highest number of nominations from corporate counsel and other market sources in our most recent research cycle were considered. The individuals invited to participate in LACCA Thought Leaders comprise the top 20% of all the lawyers considered for inclusion across the region.

Through hundreds of votes and nominations in the course of our research, the market has identified these lawyers as being among the best in their field, without exception. Their names are ubiquitous in their sectors and, in many cases, transcend them.

LACCA members and readers with queries on the research process should contact us at [email protected].
