Does covid-19 spell long-term changes to Brazilian labour relations?
To ease the financial burden on Brazilian companies during the covid-19 pandemic, the government has implemented various labour measures allowing businesses to reduce their workforce, while the government steps in and covers a portion of employees’ wages. Felsberg Advogados partner Maurício Pepe De Lion and senior associate Rafael Borges say the measures have saved millions of jobs and believe an extension of some of the initiatives could be beneficial.
