Conoco and Ecuador settle nine-year expropriation dispute
US energy company ConocoPhilips has settled a nine-year dispute at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) with Ecuador over the expropriation of two oil blocks, with the state agreeing to pay US$337 million to satisfy an award issued earlier this year.
