Colombia faces arbitration claim over illegal mining
An investor in historic gold and silver mines in Colombia has brought a claim ath the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) against the country, reportedly seeking US$700 million damages for the government’s failure to evict illegal miners and control violent strikers and a guerilla group.
