Renata Muzzi Gomes de Almeida is a partner at TozziniFreire’s Compliance & Investigation practice group and focuses her practice on compliance matters, with particular expertise in internal investigations. Her experience includes advising companies, boards of directors and independent committees on prevention, detection, response and remediation of complex matters related to compliance and anti-corruption. She advises clients on risk assessments and complex anticorruption due diligences. She also represents clients in cooperation and leniency agreements with the Brazilian authorities. Renata coordinates the Forum of Compliance Professionals, an initiative created by TozziniFreire in 2008 to share and benchmark best practices in compliance, currently composed by more than 100 companies. She was the first Brazilian to obtain the certification CCEP (Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional) granted by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics in 2008.
Renata graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. She is specialised in corporate law by the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo and specialised in Business Management from the Busines School of São Paulo. She also attended the Annual Academy of American and International Law in Dallas. Renata co-chairs the Latin Lawyer and Global Investigations Review – GIR Annual Anti-Corruption and Investigations Conference in São Paulo since 2013.
