Oscar Tutasaura

Partner, Posse Herrera Ruiz

Oscar Tutasaura is a partner at Posse Herrera Ruiz. His practice focuses on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and privatisations. Oscar’s mergers and acquisitions experience includes representing buyers, sellers and government entities in domestic and cross-border transactions, and privatisations in a series of industries, including energy, insurance, pharmaceutical, infrastructure, food, chemical, automotive and retail stores. Oscar has experience advising buyers and sellers in cross-border M&A transactions in the insurance industry and advising foreign insurers on the incorporation of insurance companies in Colombia.

Before joining Posse Herrera Ruiz, he worked as an associate at a Colombian law firm and as a foreign associate at the New York offices of Sidley Austin LLP. He is a faculty member at Our Lady of the Rosary University, where he teaches civil law. Oscar received a JD from Universidad del Rosario, undertook postgraduate studies in commercial law at Universidad de los Andes and received an LLM in international legal studies from Georgetown University. He is admitted to practise in Colombia and in the State of New York. His native language is Spanish and he is fluent in English.
