Luis is legal director for BLP’s environmental law department. He has actively assisted leading national and international firms in cases related to natural resources and mining, regulatory compliance, litigation and the application of regulatory permits. He is also an experienced environmental consultant and carbon neutral auditor according to ISO/INTE 14064-1, 14064-2 and National Standard 12-01-06: 2016, ISO 14001: 2015 Environment, FSSC 22000 Food Safety standard and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Security.
Luis studied law at the Metropolitan University in Venezuela in 2016 and the University of Costa Rica in 2018. He is currently pursuing a master’s in environmental law, energy and natural resources at Lewis & Clark Law School.
He is a founding member of the Venezuelan Costa Rican Business Chamber and a member of the Environmental Law Commission of the Costa Rican Bar Association. He has published several articles and been interviewed in various media on environmental and sustainability issues.
